The property
Living a relaxing holiday inside of a cosy and peculiar residence - tracing back to the first decade of the XX century - of Marettimo. This is the pretty "vacation philosophy" of the house Hiera, accommodation placed in a typical alley just a few metres away from Scalo Nuovo (New Port). The dwelling gives hospitality into two apartments (one at the 1st floor and the other at the 2nd floor), each of them showing up a style and a character of their own. Both apartments share the staircase of access which is still original to its epoch of creation, made out of Misca stone - the same stone used to build the flight of steps of the Reggia di Caserta (Royal Palace of Caserta) - and unique model of such kind findable all over the island. Apartment at the 1st floor: it is composed by two bedrooms, an open space kitchen with living/dining room, one bathroom and a secluded balcony looking on to Via Telegrafo. This first flat - boasting a beautiful specimen of decorated concrete floor - extends in between late nineteenth century Tuscan rustic furnishings and ancient ethnic pieces of furniture, amongst which the bed heads coming from Morocco stand out. Apartment at the 2nd floor: it is a real two persons' nest with its intimate atmosphere. This second flat - composed by one bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and one bathroom - pushes its peculiarity on the harmonious altogether effect of the fittings, perfect fusion of various cultures, where late nineteenth century Tuscan furnishings lovely get together with decorative ethnic pieces of furniture. But in this latter flat are the two terraces to play the main role. The first terrace - facing the living room and the kitchen - is more secluded and endowed with a table for dinners under the stars while the second terrace (placed on the roof) enjoys an amazing sea view and extends along a large space divided into solarium zone and dining zone with table and brickwork seats.
